What to do if...

My child is ill?

Look at NHS websites, call 111 or your GP. Pharmacies can be helpful with basic coughs and colds. Children's health - NHS (www.nhs.uk)

Current information about Covid recommends that children should return to school if they are well enough. However, as a special school, we would like to ask that if your child tests positive, you keep your child at home for 5 days to prevent onwards infection. Children have relatively mild symptoms, however, adults (including our school staff) have been quite unwell, and require at least 5 days to recover. This means that they are unable to be in school. To prevent the spread of this infection, we would kindly ask that your child remains at home for 5 days or until negative.

If you are unable to test and your child has a sore throat, temperature, cough or is generally unwell, please keep at home for a minimum of 3 days.

I want to ask the Class Teacher a question

Your child has a home/school book - please use this for communicating with the Class Teacher.

Class Teachers will write in the Home/School Book daily in YR, 3 times each week in KS1 and KS2.

The home/school book contains an outline of your child's weekly learning, information about personal hygiene and eating, messages about trips, visits, clothing and school newsletters.

OR

Please email your Class Teacher. They will respond within our school policy times: (M-F 8am-5pm) or on the next available working day. If your enquiry is urgent, please email the school office: (adminoffice@riverside.hants.sch.uk)

You will find the Class Teachers work email address on your Class Newsletter.
