EarlyBird and EarlyBird Plus Information 2022-2023

About the Programme:

The National Autistic Society EarlyBird (parents whose children are aged up to 5) and EarlyBirdPlus (parents whose children are aged 5-9) are programmes for families whose child/children have a diagnosis or are likely to receive a diagnosis of autism. Through the EarlyBird programme, parents and carers will learn more about autism. Two carers from each family can attend the 8-week programme and discover new ways to support their child, following a diagnosis.

Topics Covered Include:

  • Improving communications and interactions with children under five
  • Using structure to support their child in a range of settings and situations
  • Developing basic play and social skills
  • Understanding and supporting their child's behaviour

Gill Stoll and Louise Pryce are the National Autistic Society EarlyBird trainers for Riverside School. We work with parents and carers of autistic children.

The group sessions will be held at Waterlooville Community Centre, 10 Maurepas Way, Waterlooville, PO7 7AY (situated in Asda car park). Free parking is available towards the back of the community centre.
