People who Help us Support Your Child’s Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing
We work closely with the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) from CAMHS who support staff to understand and feel confident in recognising mental health differences. The MHST has already delivered the Overview of Common Mental Health Issues in Children training for some staff on the causes of anxiety and how this might present in different ways and this has increased staff confidence in spotting signs of need in pupils. The MHST is also planning to deliver whole-staff training on attachment and trauma in the spring term.
The MHST is also increasing the work it does with parents and carers. Please keep an eye out for a flyer coming home soon about their Childhood Anxiety Parent Workshop on January 27th 2023, being held at Park Community School. This will be for Riverside School parents only and places are limited so please do send your replies back asap if you would like to attend. Gill Stoll will be there and is really looking forward to seeing those of you who can make it.
