Chicken Pox in school

We have multiple cases of Chicken Pox in school.

This is a really common virus which is infectious.

There are usually 3 stages of infection:

  1. Small spots appear. These can be anywhere on the body.

  2. Spots become blisters.

  3. Blisters become scabs.

Children might also have a temperature, lose their appetite or appear generally unwell.

Children need to stay off school until the blisters have all scabbed and the child is feeling well enough. This is usually 5 days after the first signs of infection.

Please see Chickenpox - NHS (www.nhs.uk/conditions/chickenpox) for more information or speak to your pharmacist.
