Welcome

Riverside School is maintained by the Education Department of Hampshire County Council. It is a special school for children experiencing a complex range of needs associated with learning difficulties. Riverside also makes specialist provision for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASDs).

The school can take up to 104 children. The majority of children are aged between 5 and 11. However, a small percentage of the places are dedicated to providing specialist nursery provision for children agreed between 3 and 5. Children of nursery age attend the school on a part-time basis.

We aim to help children to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and work towards an understanding of what is meant by economic well-being.

Letter from The Headteacher
Hello and welcome to our school's website. We suggest you start by taking a virtual tour of the school by clicking the photo of the school entrance below this letter.

We hope that you will enjoy the virtual tour of the school and are able to get a general picture of the school environment and how we work. What we don't think you will experience is the warm, friendly, caring and supportive atmosphere that visitors to the school usually report following a visit.

We, at Riverside, celebrate the achievements of all of the children, are fully committed to developing strong partnership links with our parents and work, very much, as part of the team of professionals who are there to support the children and their families.

If you would like more information about the school, or would like to visit to have a more in depth look at the school and the work we do with the children in our care, please contact us via the link at the top of the page.

Enjoy the tour,
Liz Beavan - Headteacher
